Rio believes in the power of community, and has a burning passion to reach, platform, and collaborate with creative minds from every crack in the earth. Primarily through Out the Mud, an artist-led platform creating accessible opportunities, exhibitions, markets and events for local, emerging, or working class artists and creatives.
For Campbell, painting, and creation generally - is a method of translation. A way to bring her experience, skill, and insight into the physical realm to portray an intricate process of ideas.
Rio’s passion for her artistic journey brought her from England to Berlin in the summer of 2025, supported by a growing network of collectors across Europe. Currently based in Berlin, but mentally never far from home.

LOVER OF THE CAUSE
Rio Campbell (b.2001) is a multi-disciplinary artist specialising in painted works, blending social culture and symbolism to visualise the hidden forces of coincidence and humanity that hold us together.
Campbell's upbringing in Hull's Council estates nurtured a unique ability to extract beauty from unconventional landscapes and compositions. Paired with interest in folklore, mythology and fuelled with council estate confidence, Rio's work layers these ancient narratives onto contemporary life, creating purposeful tension between the detailed and the abstract.
